Description of the area and members

Date: Wed, 20 Feb 2008 14:14:09

Okay so the area in which I work is bigger than the 1st ward boundaries. Yes we are the only two missionaries in our area. The majority of the people have the bare necessities of life. Most have tvs and some have dvds. They all have cell phones. The majority use their cell phones as radios. We use the cybers that they have here. There is at least one in every area. I do not have the luxury of a wonderful member to wash my clothes. I have the pleasure of scrubbing my shirts so the they aren´t yellow, red, or brown. In Posadas centro we have Libertad which is basically like Walmart Argentina style. They have skittles there and that's where i picked up the Trix cereal. Sorry that I didn't send those photos last week. So here they are now.

1. Right to left, E. Patterson, Pamela Estepa, Me, Pres. Lopez.
2. The friend of Pamela that gave us her address.
3. The best members in the world. Hermana Silvia Malveira and her daughter Selene.
4. My companion´s foot with a nice fatty blister.
5. The family of Pamela. Right to left, E. Patterson, Pamela, Friorela, Silvia, David, Gabriel, and me.

Their family just recently moved out of our area and are in the Barrio now. The zone leaders are now in charge of teaching and baptizing the rest of her family. Now my companion and I continue our search for families. The other day the temperature here reached 116 degrees. Yesterday I realized I've been on my mission for 4 months and it has just flown by. My comp goes home in 5 weeks and he is staying strong until the end. Well, he is going to have to stay strong or I'll woop him into shape. I love you all. I know this church is true. I know God and Jesus Christ live and that they are in charge of their church. Thanks for all of your love and support.

Con amor,
Elder Hunsaker

Dear Fam., Friends, Anybody.
Ok, so i have some big news.....I have two baptisms coming up on the 9th of Feb. Pamela(21) and her brother David(12) accepted the date and hopefully they will continue to go to church so they can be baptized. For dad`s needs. We have purified water that is delivered every Wednesday. So that should answer the pump question also. No have not taken the pills. I will start tomorrow but if they make me sick i wont be using them further. Yesterday in the sky there was a huge halo around the sun and my comp and i thought it was the second coming. The ice cream here is pretty tasty. i just thought you would like to know. Every Wednesday night at 6 my comp teaches English and i teach piano. The last two times people have not attended. Hope to have a good turn out tonight. San Ignacio has been postponed until next week so that we have more money in case there are cool things to buy there. We found 5 new investigators yesterday so i am pretty happy about that. The goal for the mission is to find and baptize one family( father, mother, kid(s)) every two transfers. They struggle to have worthy males in the wards and branches. It rained the other day and i sunk my foot into about 5 inches of mud and completely covered my shoe. They language is moving along i can understand some people. Love you all and hope all is well. By the way you can send more than just 4 packages a year. Some day i would love to have some peanut butter and other tasty food from the states. I know the message that we as missionaries carry is a message perfectly suited for whomever we meet. I can bring peace to those that have had a loved one pass away. It can bring direction to all that are lost. I know that it brings joy into families that truly care for one another. Because what other church has the authority to seal families together for time and for all eternity. I know this is the church of Jesus Christ. I love this gospel and the joy it brings. I love you all. Until next week.

Photos:
Last night we had a birthday party for Elder Dickinson. He turned 21 and we celebrated with brownies, ice cream and a game of go fish. I bought a bag of Trix to give me a piece of home. haha. They were delicious. I was able to get some shots of the rainbow halo around the sun. In the birthday shot from left to right: E. Patterson, E. Fletcher, E. Dickinson, and me. E. Fletcher and Dickinson are our zone leaders. The elder in that one picture that I sent before is my comp when he had a really bad headache.

Nothing like a bag of TRIX to remind me of home!

All is well here at the MTC

Date: Fri, 16 Nov 2007 17:30:27
All is well here at the MTC. I just got back from the temple where I enjoyed a delicious meal in the cafeteria there. This last Tuesday for our devotional Elder Russel M. Nelson spoke to us and so did his wife Wendy. It was a really nice meeting. After the meeting my branch president Lindalh spoke to us about having faith to see and be involved in miracles and he told of a very special incident that happened to him. I'd tell you the story but he asked us not to repeat his words. I do know that if we have faith we can be tools in our heavenly fathers hands to help his children and our siblings. Spanish is coming along quite well and my district is about to start learning the first lesson in Spanish. On Monday nights we have a meeting called Family Home Verbos which is where we play a game of charades(spelling?) and we try to have the other members of our district guess the verbs that the signals correlate(?) with. There are a total of 50 verbs and 50 signals so it gets a little tough sometimes. Mom I need to know the balances of my accounts so I can use my card when the time comes. Also to my mother and father please don't send heavy things like those boot dryers my bags are overweight as it is. Concerning Jenny's question no my companion is not nerdy but he is very commando like which sometimes irritates but whatever. He's from Idaho Falls and that should pretty much explain everything. In response to Darren's question about a mp3 player 4gbs will suffice and I don't need one with voice recording capabilities. Mom and Dad I want you to know that I haven't missed placed anything like you thought I would. I don't have the rubik's cube like you thought I did and thank you for the ten dollars that I didn't need to use because of not having the rubik's cube. I'm sorry if I didn't answer all questions but my time has now run out. Mom send this to everyone for me until I figure this dumb program out. Amen. Love you all.
